What I do

I work on applied AI reliability: retrieval grounded in sources, refusal when evidence is missing, deterministic checks, approval gates, and evaluations. The goal is to make failure visible and give people control over consequential actions.

I am based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (GMT-3), and open to remote applied-AI roles and fixed-price freelance work. For current availability and terms, ask me directly.

Selected public work

These are portfolio systems with sample or synthetic data. Their code and project pages show implementation and verification details; they do not establish hosted production deployment or adoption. Check each project's current evidence and limitations before citing it.

• WCP Compliance Agent V5: deterministic payroll validation decides, the model explains, and unverified wage coverage goes to human review.
• groundtruth: retrieval with citations and refusal. Its held-out answer-coverage measurements missed their targets; it over-refuses.
• evalforge: a regression gate for RAG and agents, including checks for answers that cite the wrong evidence. Its evaluation corpora are synthetic.
• aria-agent: an agent harness with approvals bound to the exact action. Native Claude Code trials were not run.

Experience

Expat Money — AI Lead · Jun 2022 – Nov 2025. Created and led the AI function from zero. Cut AI-for-content costs 90% — replaced a $200/month tool with a $20/month one — and halved content production time. Built grounded retrieval for cross-jurisdiction expat planning.

Zap Viagens — Founding Engineer · Jun 2026 – Oct 2026. Built privacy-first AI products for service businesses on self-hosted open-source models; owned the architecture end to end — retrieval, agents, evaluation, and cost control — designed so customer data stays on owned infrastructure.
